When "Short" isn't Short Enough
This is not a sponsored post.
Old Navy is not one of my favorite stores.
Or at least, it wasn't until I realized they have the best jeans for me.
They've got different jeans for different body shapes, and that's great.
I love those jeans because they fit perfectly.
Except in one way . . .
I'm 5'2".
I guess their "short" jeans are based on somebody who must be the same size, but must be like, 5'6".
There are literally about 3-4 extra inches.
On a SHORT.
*sigh*
I went there the other day with my mom and sister, and I tried on some jeans that were nearly half-price with the Labor Day sale.
She brought in the size I was about 4 months ago and they were too big! which is awesome . . .
but they were also too long.
She went back for a smaller pair, and I told her that if they had "Hobbit" lengths, that would probably work.
They didn't.
But still.
Also, as a sidenote, I'm too tall to be a Hobbit.
I'm too tall to be a Dwarf.
I'm to short to be a Human.
I'm too short to be an Elf.
Yep, you're lookin' at the cutest Orc there is.
I wonder if they carry Orc-sized jeans. . . ?

I’m Short
I’m short.
I used to want to be tall, but I’ve heard from tall people that it's not that great being tall.
For instance, jeans just aren't long enough.
. . . Ummm, well then, you can have my problem: even the petite short jeans are about 3-4 inches too long.
I remember a few years ago I bought a pair of jeans and I went to get them taken up by this Japanese lady who does alterations down the street. I went into her store and stood on the box and she starts laughing at me when she rolled up the ends.
She's all "Oh you so cute and so short not tall at all" and I'm all "But I'm taller than you!"
It was pretty funny.
But yeah, being tall may be no walk in the park, but being short isn't too awesome either.

Words We Should Change the Definition of: Adorable
Okay, this is what happens when you have too much to do and you do none of it - you think of words to change the definitions of. But whatever.
So, "adorable".
What does that mean?
When people say adorable, they usually mean "cute", "sweet", stuff like that.
But to "adore" means to: "regard with the utmost esteem, love, and respect; honor" (Dictionary.com).
Hmm. Interesting.
To "be adorable" isn't as cutesy as we've made it.
To "be adorable" is really something everyone should be, not just babies, puppies, and kittens.
Which is unfortunate, because I use adorable a lot.
But sometimes I do use it in the right context.
I wonder if people know that . . .

A (Crafty) Lesson Learned . . .
So, I have this shop on Etsy.
And I've been experimenting with different projects.
Well, I haven't taken art in years, but I remember that I can't paint.
I always get way too caught up in the details and don't spend enough time on the big picture.
Well, I decided to give it another shot: I'm making a plaque for this girly that I babysit.
It's got Psalm 27:1 on it with "Lord" and "light" in pink glow in the dark.
I briefly considered buying a stencil sheet for the lettering, but was all like, "Eh, people love my handwriting; I can totally freehand this!"
Ha.
Again, I say ha.
NOPE.
I mean, I freehanded(?) it okay, but it looks a bit childish. I suppose that's okay, as it is for a child's room, but . . . I dunno, I had higher hopes for it.
Oh well.
Next time, I'm getting the stencils.
. . .
Ha, who do I think I'm kidding?
No I won't.

Old School Disney Princesses
So, my mom and I are watching Sleeping Beauty.
Well, I'm watching it; she's napping.
But I was just thinking . . . there's got to be more to the story (stories, really) than Mr. Disney and his peeps are tellin' us.
So!
To rectify this situation, I have decided to rewrite my favorite princess stories.
And -- to be perfectly honest -- if you would die if the story was 'ruined' for you . . . ya probably ought not read what I'm going to write . . .

My Fantastic(al) Christmas List
After much deliberation, I have finally settled on what I want for Christmas.
It's really not that big of a list.
I want . . .
. . . an ELF.
Either one (or both!) of these would be perfectly acceptable:

However, one of these will be promptly returned / exchanged / exiled:
Please and thank you.
